My husband loves music but admittedly, he can’t sing a decent song not even to save his life. But ironically, his prowess in creating sound systems for cars is an ace! I mean he garners awards from different car and audio shows here and there from time to time, something that he is kinda known for when it comes to car audio. And even if I wanted him to sing me a song or play the guitar or this Fender guitars to serenade me and all, guess it won't happen, not even in a hundred years! :D

We will be leaving in a while for our most awaited staycation at the highlands of Tagaytay unfortunately, our dear Princess pug wouldn’t be able to join as the boutique hotel doesn’t allow pets in their vicinity, even if you have the most luxurious dog crate or something, they don't allow. Good thing, our tita is open to the idea of taking care of our beloved dog while we are gone and we’ll sure miss her super jolly dog-personality!

i am about to sleep early tonight because the husband and yours truly will be having a fitness bonding time tomorrow morning! :) yep, you just heard it right, a morning exercise for us! we will start off by having a jog around the neighboring village that is still in the development stage as of the moment, so no problem with peepers or whatsoever. i just found my running shoes in the storage room and realize that it is still looking new, wow i was never an active gal noh? so tomorrow will be the start of everything for me. which reminds me,gotta buy a new scale for recording my upcoming weight loss! lol...

mini garden for mom

was talking to my mom earlier and she told me of her plan to have a mini garden complete of the land escaping drama! it has been a long dream of my mother actually, i remember her talking when i was still in high school that whenever we get a chance to build our own house, she will have a front lawn land escape, with all her favorite plants and shrubs. she would also love to have a mini grotto of her adored Virgin Mary with water falls effect to make it more dramatic. a dream she never said good bye to, until she talks about today. she says that she might have a land escaping job mid of this year, a little after after the apartment construction, she will just have to revive herself financially speaking, you know. but right now, she asked me to check out sites with sample land escaping models she can pattern her own and found myself enjoying the boxes and garden planters at SimplyPlanters.com !

And so my daily jog is over and done now. Sad part is that I haven't shed any pounds at all! I wonder why, but my mom kept on telling that its because I never let go of my junk eating habits that's why pounds keep on coming back on my body. It's really frustrating, I mean I've been running for hours and sweats covering my whole being but to no avail, although I can feel a little lightness overall, so I guess that's what really matter right? Anyways, since I decided to stop waking up before the sun rises and gear myself up for an hour of jog to prevent myself from getting burned as you all know, I hate getting tan and all... it's hard to be fair-skinned and if I wanted to darken my skin just in case, there are fast ways like spray on tanning or something, anyways, I thought of canvassing for one of those treadmills in being available for terms at one particular shop in the mall, or better yet since my dad plans to get my sister one unit, I'll probably be the one using it.

With so many fashion styles of whatever coming out for the past few years, we can say that even the most dull-looking uniforms of professionals has finally becoming edgy and trendy! Even those strict-looking nurses shoes of the past are now starting to evolve with the latest designs and colors too! Probably you notice it too, but nurses now in the hospital are now strutting themselves with new creative scrubs designs and lovely nursing clogs too! At least, they can now be fashionable at work without having to bear the dullness of all white uniform that has been connected to them over the years. My daughter has been asked by her dad if she wanted to take up some guitar lessons this summer vacation. Though she’s only wanting a violin lesson ever since, she might consider this guitar lesson as she wanted to do something new for this vacation. Good thing there are music schools nearby that offers lessons and even sells great guitars and even repair Hipshot Tuners and all!

with the trend these days everything and anything is made so compact. just like mobile phones, before when it was first introduced for the public it was like jurassic in size but now it has become so tiny you wouldn't even guess that a person is holding one! another example are the music players, first comes the walkman, then the ever popular disc man that it was so cool being seen with one! and now, there are mp3 players and mp4 which are so little but possible to load with hundreds and even thousands of songs and yes, movies! gadget freaks are really getting into making those stuffs so little to become handy. but do you know that even analog digital converter is now available?! yes it is! well for me, it is one good innovation, something you can use anytime and anywhere!

Guess what? I wasn't able to get my mom Mothers day gifts :( and as far as i can remember lastt year is the only year I didn't give her anything, bad me. But of course I'm still thinking of getting something you know, it's just that the budget is so tight this past months thus having me no extra to splurge or anything. Online deals are not so good for me, but I'm still keeping my hopes up you know.

Anyways, speaking of gifts, I've been browsing sites that features classy and elegant watches, something that I hope to get for my mom. One of the many that caught my attention was the ulysse nardin watch. The designs of this watch are so beautiful, extremely elegant. Though it costs a bit, it still I find it worth the price. Who knows, I might be able to snag some good amount of moolah and will be able to buy one of those rectangular shaped cased watch even without those sparkling stones and all, having one of the best design for watches doesn't necessarily mean all those fancy gems and studs to surround it. Now that I am practically enjoying shooting with off-cam flash, I have come to realized that photography is a never ending subject to study. In fact, it also came to me that there are so many other stuff to try before landing to your desired output. And a bunch of trials isn’t enough! Lots and lots of trial and error actually before being able to satisfy your desired result. And speaking of nth trials, here is one of the many off-cam trial snap I took during one of our events. Good thing we had a nice clear spot in the house (aside from their well coveted cascade faucets) I had fun shooting with their funky curtains too!

How to make a three-course meal on a budget

Saving money on your food can often seem pretty difficult, especially when you've got plenty of mouths to feed!

So, here are three simple, tasty - but more importantly budget-friendly - recipes you can get your teeth into!

Starters - Roasted red pepper and tomato soup

This simple recipe can be used over and over again, you could even add your own ingredients to personalise this signature dish. What's more, if you don't manage to dish it all out straight away, it can be chilled and kept for a few days in the fridge.

Ingredients

4 large red peppers
6 large tomatoes, peeled
4 large cloves of garlic, unpeeled
4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
1 large red onion, peeled and finely chopped
850ml of vegetable stock
1 tablespoon of dried oregano
Bread rolls (one for each person)

Method

Preheat oven to 200 degrees centigrade (gas mark 6) and place the peppers and garlic on a baking tray. Sprinkle both with oregano and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Roast the peppers and garlic for 20-30 minutes (or until the pepper skins have bubbled/blistered). Remove the peppers from the oven and place in a plastic sandwich bag. When they have cooled, peel the flesh and chop the peppers, getting rid of the seeds.
Place a large pan on the hob and heat one tablespoon of olive oil. Add the onion and fry until soft. Chop the tomatoes, getting rid of the seeds, and place into the pan along with the chopped peppers and vegetable stock. Now gently press the soft-cooked garlic from the cloves and add to the pan. Lower the heat and simmer for around 35 minutes.
Once done, blend the soup in a food processor until it reaches the desired consistency. To serve, simply reheat and pour into bowls.

Main course - Pan-fried sausage and potato tomato casserole

This quick, cheap recipe will create a surprisingly tasty main that will serve up to four hungry diners! What's more, if you don't want to use sausages, you could use chicken, or beef - or even a vegetarian alternative.

Ingredients

500g new potatoes, sliced in half
1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
450g pork sausages
1 large onion, sliced
1 pepper (doesn't matter what colour), diced
1 large jar of tomato pasta sauce

Method

Heat the oil in a large pan and add the sausages and potatoes. Fry until brown (this will usually take around 10 minutes).
Add the onion and pepper and cook until they have softened. Keep turning the sausages and potatoes to make sure they get cooked thoroughly.
Once cooked, add the pasta sauce and a small amount of water (only a splash). Cover the pan with a lid, lower the heat and leave to simmer for around 10-15 minutes.
To serve, simply remove from the heat and spoon onto a plate.

Dessert - Sweet banoffee pie

This delicious banoffee pie is cheap and easy to make, and will go down a treat after the casserole!

Ingredients

125g cold butter for the filling
175g cold butter for base
175g caster sugar
400g condensed milk
250/300g plain digestive biscuits
2 large ripe bananas
150ml whipping cream
1 bar of milk chocolate

Method - base

Place the digestive biscuits in a small tub and crush them using the end of a rolling pin (or your hands).
Melt the 175g of butter in a saucepan and stir in the biscuit crumbs. When combined, press the mix over the greased base of an 8-inch cake tin. Then place the tin in the fridge for one hour to allow the base to set.

Method - filling

Put the 125g of butter in a pan over a low heat, add the sugar and stir. Once the butter has melted, slowly stir in the condensed milk and bring to the boil. As soon as the mixture boils, turn the heat down and leave to simmer for 5 minutes - making sure you continue stirring. The mixture will be ready when it turns a 'caramel' colour.
Remove the chilled base from the fridge and pour the mixture into the tin. Put the tin back into the fridge and leave to cool for another hour.
Remove from fridge after the hour, and cover the top with a layer of banana slices. Then whip the cream using a whisk, and place a layer of cream on top of the banana.
Now add the rest of the banana slices, a little more cream, then grate chocolate on top and serve.

Of course, the cost of these recipes is down to where you buy your ingredients from, and whether you buy 'budget' products instead of 'branded' ones.

You see, I can’t stay outdoor for a long period of time without something to cover my eyes from the harsh sun and humidity that often makes me twitch and trigger my migraine attacks. It has been said though not really proven that covering a wedding is one of the hardest and trickiest for a photographer. Something that really sunk unto my mind thus explains why I let down a few invitations to shoot their special day. Until late last year when I braved and conquer my fear, chin up and clenched fist I said yes. And honestly, it was really, really hard but FUN! my team enjoyed every single moment of the entire wedding event aside from the fact that there are no Door Crashers or uninvited guests that arrived! haha. kidding aside, it was indeed a very memorable experience for my team, at least we can handle a wedding now!

Ok, so I’ve been a slack when it comes to updating my blogs and telling stories about what’s going on with me for the past weeks specially before and after the holidays. Honestly, my hands are full (and I’m thanking heavens for that) and I missing terribly my blogs! Actually, there are times when I just wanted to stop whatever I’m doing just to open my virtual writer and write down whatever thoughts that has come, but then again, I am busy with the real world and I have no choice but to keep overflowing thoughts and stories until now :) Anyways, I betta’ stop blabbing and show you these photos that my sister and I took late last week, it’s an engagement session of our January 28 wedding couple taken at Colossians Garden in Tagaytay. We’re glad to have a very fun and responsive subjects that they even brought so many props like picnic stuff and even a bike complete with thrust bearings and all! I’ve been asked by the husband for so many times now about my Christmas wish list. But since things got so busy for the past weeks, I wasn’t able to think and decide on what I really want to receive this special occasion. Until last night, when I realized that there are still times when I can’t put myself to sleep, sometimes getting a good slumber is near to impossible and so now, I think what I want for Christmas is this well-raved about white noise machine or sound therapy system that can lull one to sleep with soothing high fidelity sounds that are medically proven to create a good night sleep!
